Our Goals
To unite 250 corporate and civic leaders and their respective
organizations to service opportunities and other efforts that
lead to community transformation in the most-help-needed areas
of our community. Drawing from Birmingham’s strong corporate and
civic community’s history of community involvement, we are
working to mobilize 25,000 volunteer days directed towards
grassroots community involvement efforts.

The Learning Community
Each quarter the McWane Center host a Mission Birmingham
“Learning Community”
during the lunch hour. This is a time when corporate leaders,
Pastors, Community Based Organizations and neighborhood leaders
come together to learn about each other and build relationships
that will be useful for community transformation.

The Greater Birmingham Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
Mission Birmingham serves as host to the annual Greater
Birmingham Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast that unites more than 40
area Mayors on the National Day of Prayer (The first Thursday in
May) at the Harbert Center. Although it is a day sat aside by
President Ronald Reagan, we also use it as a time to honor and
pray for the men and women that offering their lives to public
service in leading our municipalities. The Mayor of the City of
Birmingham serves as host Mayor for the event and Birmingham
serves as the host city.

The Greater Birmingham Regional Leadership Dinner
The Regional Leadership Dinner is held the Wednesday evening
before the National Day of Prayer. The event is held at The Club
and is attended by the Mayor’s, their spouses and key businesses
leaders from around the Birmingham Region. This is a great
opportunity for Mayors and Business leaders alike to establish
relationships in a non-threatening environment.
